The First Level of Nursing consists specialized nurses including the Learning Disabilities nurse (RNLD), Mental Illness nurse (RMN), Registered General nurse (RGN), Adult nurse (RN/RCN), Children nurse (RSCN), Learning Disabilities nurse (RN/RNLD) and Child RN/RCN nurse. These nurses practice in the entirety of the United Kigndom.
The Second Level of Nursing includes the General nurse (ENG), who can practice in Wales and England. The Mental Illness nurse (ENM) is also in the Second Level of Nursing and practices in Wales and England. The Second Level also consists of the Learning Disabilities nurse (ENLD) who can practices in Wales and England. The Second Level General nurse (SEN) can practice in Scotland and NI.
The Midwife (RM) and Health Visitor (HV) are not rated in a level. They can both practice throughout the United Kingdom.
Most nurses in Wales and England are employed under the Agenda for Change terms. Scotland still employs on clinical grades.
Starting April 1, 2010 the pay for nurses in the various bands are as follows: Band 2: £13,653 – £16,753, Band 3: £15,610 – £18,577, Band 4: £18,152 – £21,798, Band 5: £21,173 – £27,534, Band 6: £25,472 – £34,189, Band 7: £30,460 – £40,157, Band 8a: £38,851 – £46,621, Band 8b: £45,254 – £55,945, Band 8c: £54,454 – £67,134, Band 8d: £65,270 – £80,810 and Band 9: £77,079 – £97,478.
There are many Nursing Jobs available in the medical field working in clinical environments, hospitals, within the community and more. Specialized training allows nurses to enter every medical area such as Cardiac Physiology Jobs, radiography jobs and Occupational Therapy Jobs to name a few.
